Features and Where to use
The Serviceberry is great. Simply great, like an employee who is always on time, always does what they need to for their job and works well with others! A flurry of small white flowers cover the top half of this plant in spring. Red berries in summer are edible (and the birds like them too!) It has an open branch structure giving it a more architectural look than full growing large bushes. They have medium green leaves in summer and just wait for the fall colour, it glows for a few weeks in October. Looks best set out from a corner of a building or walkway with smaller plants situated around it.
