The Bloodgood Japanese Maple has long been an industry standard for a plant that has a superb display of red leaves. Great on its own, and as underplanting of colour-contrasting shrubs or perennials help make the dark colour pop.
Growth Details
Cold Hardiness - Survives down to -30C.
Sizing - Bloodgoods will typically mature anywhere from 12-20' tall and 8-10' wide, it does grow slowly so it will remain smaller for quite a while.
Location - Full sun to 75% shade (leaves will be less red in shade), plant in areas protected from wind, It does best in slightly moist soil, basically in summer give a deep watering every week or two.
